About Horn Aid Foundation.
HAF is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political organization established in the year 2009 to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of the Horn of Africa. The principal office of HAF is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. HAF is dedicated to improving the lives of East African communities through children's education, disease prevention, and improving the health of the local communities, and the empowerment of civil society.
Background.
Somalia has been facing a humanitarian crisis for last 18 years; this has been caused by the absence of a functional central government, the absence of sufficient rainfall, and the continuous occurrence of natural disasters. It remains one of the worst humanitarian situations in the world with approximately four million Somalis suffering from famine, diseases, and water supply shortages.

Vision Statement.
HAF is a US charity that aims to enable the people of the Horn of Africa to gain dignity and future prosperity for themselves and their communities by providing education and health services.
HAF's goal is to work with clan elders and civil societies to help ease the pain and suffering of the Somali people.
Even though peace and stability have been established in the north independent region of Puntland and Somaliland, south/central Somalia remains lawless. Clan warfare, opposition federal government skirmishes, and attacks on aid workers continue to block relief efforts.
